Cromer Miniature Railway Club
Situated close to Amazona Zoo, Hall Road, Cromer, the new railway will provide the local community with the opportunity to help build and run a miniature railway. We are confident it will become a fun attraction for both locals and visitors alike.
The Cromer Miniature Railway Club was formed in 2020 to create a miniature railway in Cromer. Several of the members were formerly part of the now closed Ashmanhaugh Light Railway Club.
The new railway will be 7 1/4" gauge and the club has several different locomotives and 3 carriage sets.

Site Development
Cromer Miniature Railway Club (CMRC) has a 20 year lease on approximately 3 acres of land adjacent to Cromer PYO with plans to construct a miniature passenger railway. The piece of land is railway unfriendly in the extreme, being pretty much on the side of a hill. The long term plan is to create two flat plains, one low level, the other 17’ higher, connected by two gradients, one of them spiral.
Our stock
The Club has over 2000’ of freshly refurbished track, a bunch of points and signals, 3 electric locos, 2 petrol/hydraulic locos, 1 steam locomotive, 8 passenger coaches and 4 works trucks. The railway will be constructed in 3 Phases. Phase 1 will include the carriage and engine sheds contained within a distorted oval test track. Once that’s done the through station with a single approach and exit track will be added giving initially a 1,400’ run. The final stage of Phase 1 will increase the length of the running line to 2,000’. Phase 2 will follow in short order, increasing the length of run to about 3,200'. When Phase 3 is completed the estimated 20 minute run will be just shy of a mile.
Experience Cromer Miniature Railway
CRW Productions visited the railway recently and created a fantastic video that showcases all of our facilities in detail. Their work beautifully highlights the various features and attractions that make our railway special.
